I've been teaching and preparing Couples for their big day for 10 years now! So, rest assured, you're in good hands. I am female, but in teaching we learn both lead and follow, which allows me to get each student dancing the way an advanced dancer would! My gift is to quickly see the ability of dancers in front of me, their strengths to accentuate, their weaknesses to hide, the tone of song, and create a harmony between them all, all the while teaching you some basics to allow you to float thru any mishaps on the floor. It's fool-proof stuff!
I have unique and fun system of teaching that won't hurt your brain! I stand by my motto "I can teach anyone to dance". Yes that includes the rhythmiclly challenged, which are usually the very athletic people! Let me explain.......The more you do a routine, the more your body memoriezes that routine, allowing you to drift off and let it take over. It's called "muscle memory". So in learning anything, it's the repetition that makes it look so natural. That's the importance of your commitment to practice between lessons. My main concern is making your learning process fun and painless. I realize this can be a hectic and stressful time full of anticipation and excitement.
Through your lessons, I will enable you to have the knowledge that the experts use to dance under any circumstances and recover with grace. Most wedding couple's do a rendition of slow dance appropriate for your big day!
I also realize your first dance is an opportunity to show off in front ofyour friends, relatives, and I realize you want something flashy, yet simple for your osscasion. Making your wedding First dance special to your specific needs and matching that dance to your specific music is my number one concern.
I am an independent instructor working outside of the studio setting. I can meet you at your home, my home, your rehearsal space, or various other venues I choose from in town. I have also in the past taught family or wedding parties as a gift from the bride and groom. Let me know if you'd like to arrange a party lesson for your family or wedding party!
Each routine may have elements from other routines, but is unique to you, your set-up, abilities, and your personality, and especially the chosen music. I take all this into consideration when creating your routine, all the while hoping to get a couple more life-long dancers.
