can seem intimidating at first, but with a fun and knowledgable instructor, it doesn't have to be!
Private dance instruction is my favorite way of teaching. There is less distraction and students are able to focus and really learn something from my years on the dance floor. I take great care to impart important basics of dance for beginners and really take pride in making sure people know the fundamentals of lead and follow, not just going through the moves you don't understand! This helps you look good and avoid manhandling your dance partner and allows you to dance longer and feel great! In the 4-16 weeks of lessons in private you will see tremendous growth as we can break any bad habits in form early, and allow you to dance with the instructor while you learn; not learn it wrong and then be corrected by the teacher. Group classes are a fun way to use what you learn in private lessons, or practicing with a steady partner. Practicing between lessons is an important part of your dance learning, so make sure to include an hour or at least 15 minutes of practice a week, wether alone or with a regular partner.
There is a standing intro rate of $25 an hr. for your first lesson or $40 an hour per couple!

I don't have my own, studio ... rather I've found as an independent instructor that I can use a meriad of locations which students really like. This allows me to keep the expenses down and yet keep doing what I love. If there is an extra fee it will be listed at the current venue list I have below..

This space is large and allows for any type of practice including choreography and dances that need space like: Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango. Park or max/bus/bike here so easy! NW Portland World Cup Coffee & Tea. This is available 7 days a week and I teach from 2pm-6:30 start times here. A Lovely Conference Room w/ hardwoods and huge bay window. This is ideal for wedding dance lessons or private lessons for single or couple. Easy to get to by #17 Bus or PGE Max Stop. 1740 NW Glisan 97209. No added fee to regular Private Lesson Rates.
SE Portland Paradise Ballroom. Available 7 days a week with notice at various times. Beautifully maintained large & mirrored Ballroom.Where the 3rd Saturday Dance will be held 8-12am. But we can schedule private lessons here mostly for smooth dances that travel and need larger space. It's easy to find and park. 826 SE Belmont, 97214. $10 Added fee to regular Private Lesson Rates each hour scheduled at this facility.

Pay per 1 hr. Lesson @ $70 (single lessons, cash only)
Prepay 2 hr. Lesson @ $75 = $150
Prepay 4 lessons @ $60 = $240
Prepay 8 lessons @ 50 - $400
Prepay 16 lessons @ 30 = $480
Prepay 24 Lessons @ $25 = $550
